My name is Justin Comini, I am a NJ/NYC-based Stage Manager currently pursuing a degree in Design & Production concentrating in stage management at the University of Michigan. Outside of rehearsal, I enjoy seeing local productions, exploring new restaurants, and practicing hot yoga - a discipline that keeps me grounded, mindful, and present. The past eight years, I’ve built a strong foundation and approach each process with a focus on collaboration and clarity while fostering a positive, playful, and grounded environment.
Currently, I'm serving as the Script PA, for PARANORMAL ACTIVITY both for it's out of town tryout in Boston and its transfer to Broadway. Performances begin on Broadway on August 14, in the August Wilson Theatre. Recently, I was the sub-PA on THE BALUSTERS at Manhattan Theater Club and PA on the Tier 3 Work Session of TRADING PLACES.
These experiences, along with my work at Michigan, have deepened my passion for theatrical development and stage management. Being able to explore different facets of live entertainment has allowed me to become a better stage manager in any environment, not only with paperwork but also with the people. Working in commercial, non-profit, and educational settings has allowed me to be adaptable in any scenario, enabling me to learn and grow as a stage manager in every situation that I am in.
I am a “people first” stage manager, understanding that truly exceptional art can only be created when people feel safe, informed, and supported. I truly believe it is my job as a member of the stage management team to support everyone in and out of the building allowing them to put their best foot forward.
